The Butler Institute of American Art presents Young Friends Adventure, the second Thursday of every month at 10:00am, through November. Join the Butler staff for an interactive gallery tour with illustrated books followed by an art activity! For children ages 2-5 years old with a parent or caregiver. The Youngstown Historical Center for Industry and Labor presents a photography exhibition by Richard Hahn titled Grit/Glow, opening Thursday, July 10, and on display through February. Grit/Glow juxtaposes the warmth of orange skies with the stark realities of industry, illustrating the paradox of beauty and hardship. The museum is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Saturdays from Noon to 4:00 pm.

The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibition, Facing the Giant: 3 Decades of Dissent, by artist Shepard Fairey, Sunday, June 8 through Sunday, August 31. Featuring 30 large silkscreen and mixed collage works on paper, Facing the Giant is a curated selection of Fairey's works that highlight clear messages of empowerment. The Butler Institute of American Art presents the exhibition, Touched by Rauschenberg, which features the works of Rauschenberg and three artists who admired and celebrated him: Diana Levinson, Don Gummer, and Eric Forstmann, Sunday, June 8 through Sunday, August 24, at the Butler, on Wick Avenue in Youngstown. Shakespeare at the Castle presents "The Tempest" at Alliance Ohio's historic Glamorgan Castle opening Thursday-Sunday from July 31 to August 10 with performances beginning at 7pm. See William Shakespeare's classic tale about betrayal, magic, violence, and revenge. The production will also feature orignal music played by members of the Canton Symphony Orchestra. Moraine State Park presents a Night Hike on Thursday August 14th from 8 pm-10 pm at the McDanels Launch Area at Moraine State Park. Join the park naturalist to discover some of the amazing creatures of the nighttime world. Topics will include owls, night-vision, and more. Bring a flashlight if you have one.
